Rooster Blackspur in concert

Rooster Blackspur will perform live at the Museum of Northern California Art (MONCA), located at 900 Esplanade in Chico, on Saturday, August 31st at 7PM. Referred to as “a force of nature,” award-winning singer-songwriter Rooster Blackspur hails from the Alaskan wilderness but has also spent time in New Mexico, exploring the desert – experiences that breathe life and wisdom into her songwriting. Rooster Blackspur’s high-energy original music keeps crowds jumping with a boisterous blend of honky tonk, blues, and rock and roll. Fans have called her the female Johnny Cash, and Pop Matters says her music offers a place “where honky tonk angels, goth weirdos, and otherwise disenfranchised souls can gather.” Rooster sings songs about living fearlessly and staying true to yourself.
