Glenn County Food and Beverage Manufacturing and Cottage Food Workshop

The Center for Economic Development at CSU, Chico will be hosting a Food and Beverage Manufacturing and Cottage Food Workshop on Monday, March 20th, 2017 at the Glenn County Farm Bureau. The workshop will provide emerging food and beverage processors with the knowledge and resources to be successful and bring their company to the next level. Come join us and learn from the region’s experts! The morning will focus on cottage food industries from topics including food safety regulations to marketing and sales. A few presentations will include the Glenn County Department of Environmental Health on necessary permitting and food safety regulations in order to produce at home and sell in farmers’ market-type settings, and the North Valley Food Hub on successful marketing techniques and information on managing your sales. The afternoon will focus on the current and future agriculture expectations in the region, and provide information about the resources available for food and beverage manufacturers and small businesses, including access to finance and microlending. In addition, there will be a presentation from Sohnrey Family Foods, who will be sharing their success story and overcoming challenges and struggles, as they expanded their company.
